Can't get pass Copy API step...

I helped set my client up with a shopify store that they have been running for over a year. They also have an account on my Campaign Monitor account (since I'm a reseller I set them up under my account). I went to their client settings in the campaign monitor account and copied and pasted their API listed there into the API field when trying to install the app but this error message is what appears:
There was a problem connecting to Campaign Monitor. Please check your API Key is correct and try again.

I'm copying the API exactly from the client settings, do you know what the problem would be?

   Hi Melody,

   The application doesn't currently work with Client API Keys, we need you to provide your reseller API Key.

   Will the info go into her mailing lists though? Even if I use my reselller API Key? I'm assuming a list of all client's mailing lists will come up to choose from?

   Yes you will be prompted to select a mailing list before the webhook is activated.
